Willy and the Poor Boys is CCR’s fourth studio album, released on October 29, 1969 via Fantasy Records. It was the last of three studio albums the band released that year, arriving just three months after Green River. The album includes the songs “Down On The Corner” and “Fortunate Son.” In 1970, the album made the Top 50 in six countries and it was certified 2x platinum in 1990. In 2020, Rolling Stone ranked the album number 193 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.

Willy and the Poor Boys was released in November 1969 to wide critical acclaim and commercial success. The LP includes one of the most enduring protest songs, “Fortunate Son,” as well as quintessential CCR tracks like “Down on the Corner” and “Midnight Special.” The album peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and was also included in Rolling Stone’s “500 Greatest Albums of All Time.” Now available on color vinyl.
