Das Album wurde 2009 im Joe’s Pub in New York City aufgenommen und vereint Toussaint, ein Klavier und sein umfangreiches Repertoire an Songs. Im Mittelpunkt stehen seine Eigenkompositionen, darunter „Lipstick Traces (On a Cigarette)“, „Holy Cow“, „Get Out of My Life, Woman“ und viele mehr.

Allen Toussaint war ein US-amerikanischer Musiker, Songwriter, Arrangeur und Plattenproduzent. Von den 1950er Jahren bis zum Ende des Jahrhunderts war er eine prägende Persönlichkeit des New Orleans Rhythm and Blues, und viele Musiker nahmen seine Kompositionen auf. Er war Produzent von Hunderten von Aufnahmen, darunter „Right Place, Wrong Time“ seines langjährigen Freundes Dr. John und „Lady Marmalade“ von Labelle.
